Product Description
A case involving extreme trauma and attachment disorder is presented by the child's therapist, his mother, and the family therapist. Parenting strategies and a therapeutic model illustrate the possibility of reaching beyond behavior management to deep healing for the child, family and future generations. Narrative, theoretical and experiential components are included.
Participants will learn: 1) A theoretical foundation for Somatic Experiencing (the work of Dr. Peter Levine on trauma treatment), and observe basic Somatic Experiencing techniques; 2) About the relationship of early developmental trauma to attachment challenges and will be presented with an integrated and systemic treatment model; 3) Parenting strategies that extend far beyond behavior management to heal the early wounds of trauma and attachment disorder.
